Hi, I'm Christina
Human Design and Nervous System Nerd
To be honest, I always struggle with this "About me" stuff even though I love writing and I like talking about myself and my journey. But bring both together and I'll either write a whole biography (starting way before my actual birth) or there's just nonsense coming out of me.
My dark night of the soul
So, let's try and start in the middle. I had a huge dark night of the soul back in 2020/2021 (we all know what happened in the world at that time, right?) and that's when I first discovered Human Design (and Astrology and the Gene Keys, but that's another story).
And let me tell you: I was hooked. For the first time in my life, I understood WHY I was who I was and why certain things didn't work out the way I had hoped they would. I read every single piece of content about Human Design I could find, I took courses and workshops, I got a reading - basically, I did all the things you do when you're excited about something and want to learn more. And for a little while it was great. Until it wasn't.
Why doesn't anything change?
I got frustrated because even with all this information nothing actually changed. It wasn't until I stumbled onto the nervous system and trauma work that I understood why. You see, information and knowledge is great but it is worth nothing if you don't know how to implement and embody it. If there's an invisible force that makes it almost impossible to do the thing you want (and know you need) to do. That's where the nervous system comes in. I go a little deeper into that on my Substack.
My work
So, based on my own journey and experience, there are roughly three pillars that my work is built upon:
Mind - Knowledge
Our mind loves information. And that’s what it’s here for and what it’s good at: storing, processing and evaluating information so that we can use it. Knowledge is often the foundation for change because, obviously, you need to know what, why and how to change.
Body - Embodiment
Our body is the reason we are able to live. It’s our soul’s home on this planet. Without a body we couldn’t see, hear, smell, taste or feel anything. Our body enables us to really experience life, to feel pain but also pleasure, to see the beauty but also the ugliness. It’s in our bodies where we store emotional memories and feelings that were once too much to process. Our body plays a crucial part in being able to change sustainably. It’s our body that’s designed to make decisions.
Soul - Living
Do you know the Pixar movie Soul? (If not, I highly recommend watching it!) In this movie a young soul and an old soul try to find out what their purpose is. In the end, they come to the conclusion that the purpose of life is living it. Experiencing it with everything they have. Breathing in the fresh air, feeling the sun on their skin, smelling the melted cheese on a piece of pizza. I love that movie and it always gives me chills. Because I believe that that’s exactly what our souls want: having a real, human experience and living life - not in theory, but in reality.
Me, a teacher?
So, how did we get here? - Very Generator-like, actually. I didn't know I wanted to teach about Human Design until a woman in my woman circle asked if anyone knew about Human Design. I - at that point - very hesitantly said I could do a little presentation. So I did and I had so much fun, not only doing the presentation but also talking about it. Afterwards another woman approached me if I wanted to do a 1:1 session with her. And so, here we are.
